The Letter "D"

Last week Emma’s teacher announced that they would
be doing a “Letter of the Week” theme.
This week was the letter “D.”

Today on our way home from school,
I asked Emma (as a sort of review) what the letter of the day was.
Our conversation went like this –

Me: Emma, what was today’s letter?
Emma: D!
Me: What sound does the letter D make?
Emma: ba-ba-ba…
Me: Are you sure?
[silence]
Emma: da-da-da
Me: Very good! What word starts with the letter D?
Emma: Doll!
Me: vg! What else?
Emma: Dog!
Me: Great! Okay, another word that starts with D is “daddy.”
Emma: No! It does not start with the letter D.
Me: Yes it does. Da-da-da…Daddy.
Emma: No, daddy starts with the letter J!
