Woohooo!!!

Well folks, tomorrow night is the much awaited night.
Tomorrow night Jay, Emma, and I will be starting our vacation.

We will be "leaving on a jetplane..."

Anyway, here's the final song on my vacation soundtrack....

“London Calling" <---- YES it is definitely calling us...
The Clash

London calling to the faraway towns
Now war is declared - and battle come down
London calling to the underworld
Come out of the cupboard, you boys and girls
London calling, now don't look to us
Phoney Beatlemania has bitten the dust
London calling, see we ain't got no swing'
Cept for the reign of that truncheon thing

(For the rest of the lyrics, please click here)

Here's a look back at my countdown music -

1. The Kinks and their song "Lola"
- Brit group
- the location of the bar where the guy met Lola is "North SoHo" which is in London.

2. Elvis Costello, "Shipbuilding"
- another Brit

3. The Who, "Who Are You?"
- part of the '60s British invasion

(Was lucky enough to see them in concert before John "The Ox" Entwistle died, and Zak Starkey (Ringo Starr's son) as their drummer. It was the BEST concert ...EVER!!!)

- the song "Who Are You?" refers to a club located in London and it was about the meeting of Pete and Sex Pistols.

4. Sex Pistols, "God Save the Queen"
- a very influential and controversial BRITISH punk band
- the song was perceived as an attack to the Queen of England.

5. The Clash, "London Calling"
- British punk rock band
- The song is Joe Strummer's way of expressing his concern about world events and also the band's struggles.

-THE END-
