More like this is how we used to carry Emma around in her stroller when we were living in NYC. FUN huh?
I definitely DO NOT miss this part!!!
I saw this picture in a magazine.
The woman road tested strollers that were supposed to be geared towards "urban dwellers" and then wrote the pros and cons of each stroller she tested. The prices ranged from $150 to $1100.
Emma had a travel system stroller, and when she was old enough to sit unassisted, we started using the umbrella stroller. The travel system was too heavy for subway use, so we used it around the neighborhood (grocery, laundry, CVS, long walks...) The umbrella stroller was more subway friendly but hard to maneuver with one hand. Neither stroller cost over $200.
Correction - the umbrella stroller was less than $100. I don't know how much the travel system cost since it was a gift from the grandparents.
Jay used the combination of Baby Bjorn and stroller when travelling. I opted for the "carry her and the stroller up the stairs" option. Sometimes I get lucky and some nice stranger (or visiting friends) will help me carry the stroller up and down the subway steps. Talk about working up a sweat!
Oh yeah...the good ol' days.
I wonder if Jay got misty eyed when he read the article.
**Note to self - ask Jay.**
