Meet Velcro

Jay recently re-named Emma, Velcro.
Why? Because whenever I'm around,
Emma tends to stick to me like, well...Velcro.

As soon as I step inside the apartment,
she seems to have permanently attached herself to me.

If I sit on the couch, she'll sit beside me
or play within spitting distance of me.
Whenever I think that she's preoccupied with something,
I usually sneak out of the room to go to the kitchen or something,
but before I can even say "whew" she's already standing behind me.

Worse is when I need to do something in the kitchen,
or if I need a moment in the bathroom.

Until a few months ago,
Jay and I have an open bathroom door policy.
(Just for the two of us, door remains close when there's company)
We did not have a choice then
since our bathroom door won't properly shut.
So if we close the door, she just pushes it open and barges in.

Then we got the door fixed.
She now will constantly knock at the door
while doing her angry toddler babbles.
Sometimes, she'll even cry and scream until I come out.
As soon as I open that door,
she stops crying, smiles and say "Hi."

Her shadowing me is very cute
and can be an "awwww" moment...most of the time.
But when your sitting there on the toilet,
and doing some major concentration,
and praying to the porcelain god for some quick relief...
Velcro is just a real pain in the ass!
